Portishead Sample Sources

Portishead... I'm not even sure where, let alone how to begin. The first time that I had heard Portishead, this girl I knew was driving me all over Toronto and Sour Times was playing on the radio. At first, I wasn't overly impressed but several months later (and in an entirely new plain of existence) and if memory serves me right, Disco Dan lent me his cassette copy of Dummy way back in '95 and needless to say, he never got it back. The hypnotic yet not overly complex beats and dusty arrangements combined with dark and lush female vocals made for one beautiful (and dare I say sexy) sound collage. I definitely love Dummy much more than I did their 1997 self-titled album, but the Roseland NYC Live release is amazing and worth picking up at your local record store. So anywho, I know there's quite a few that I missed, but this seems to be the gist of the samples used on the 1994 album, Dummy and one from the self-titled album. All tracks tagged and encoded within iTunes @ 128kbps (ouch, I know) with cover art. Word up you silly fucking nerds!!!
