She Packed My Bags Last Night Pre-Flight...

So on Tuesday evening after a quick stop at the barber and after a quick bite to eat, I curiously found myself flying over Pompano Beach, Deerfield Beach, and Boca Raton at about 500 feet. No, this wasn't some wacky acid trip or my delusional super-hero fantasy, but rather one of the coolest things that I have ever done. A friend of mine is in flight school and he needed to do some take off and landing exercises and I was fortunate enough to tag along on the journey. When I first got into the cockpit, I was a bit freaked out and my mind kept playing out all of these worst case scenarios, but once we finally took off and climbed into the sky; it was nothing short of amazing.

In general, I'm not really a fan of flying on commercial jets, but when I fly, one of my favorite things to do is to stare out the window as the plane is taking off and landing as I love seeing the movement of the people and traffic almost as if were a miniature city. When we took off from Pompano Municipal, it was dark, gloomy, and lightning could be seen in the distance, but this only intensified the beauty of all of the moving and multi-colored lights on the ground. After some take offs and landings at Pompano, we headed up to Boca Raton Airport and flew back by way of the coastline and again in one word; amazing. So here are a few caps from the video that I shot, but they hardly do any justice to being there first hand. Much respect to the almighty Z!!!
