Boogaloo To The Beastie Boys (2004)

Could it get any funkier than this? With Reuben Wilson on the Hammond B3, Bernie Worrell on the Fender Rhodes, Andrew Beals on the sax, LaFrae Olivia Sci on the drums, and rounding it out with Doug Munro on the guitar, you know the shit is about to hit the fan in a very cool way. With Wilson and Worrell at the helm, they crank out some amazing jazz covers of Beastie Boys tracks spanning all the way back from their Pollywog Stew days all the way up until 1998's Hello Nasty. Normally, I'm not a fan of the cover or the more politically correct, tribute song, but this album breaks that personal stereotype as it's nothing short of dope with a capital 'd'. Whether you're a fan of the Beasties or a fan of the rare groove side of jazz, I highly suggest this album because dammit...it's that funky! All tracks tagged & encoded within iTunes at a minimum of 192kbps VBR with cover art.
